Antonio Brown: Rodgers to be Steeler

Antonio Brown must have an inside source at a darkness retreat, as he is now claiming to have the inside track on Aaron Rodgers’ future.

The former Steelers star is reporting that Rodgers is headed to Pittsburgh on a two-year deal where he will play for Brown’s former coach in Mike Tomlin.

“CTESPN always has it first,” Brown wrote, citing his portmanteau of CTE and ESPN, on X. “Deal is finalized… Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers 2 year deal….”

Brown has consistently joked about becoming a reporter who breaks news, previously asking Adam Schefter to credit him for a correct report on Russell Wilson’s future destination being the Steelers.

Wouldn’t shock me if Antonio Brown got this one right too. He seems to still be plugged into what’s going on inside the Steelers organization.

And it’s a good fit. Rodgers throwing to Pickens and Metcalf - he’s going to let it rip rather than take sacks like Russ did down the stretch last season. Plus the emergence of Jaylen Warren, who is solid in the pass game. Pittsburgh is the best spot for Rodgers to get back to the postseason - evident by Tomlin’s track record.

But fulfilling the Favre prophecy has also become an option after the Vikes let Sammy D sign with Seattle. It’s a team that is ready to win now. But the question remains: is J.J. McCarthy ready to step into the throne of a tough division as a “rookie” quarterback coming off a major knee injury? And because of that question and the window to win now - I don’t think you can count Minnesota out of the Rodgers race.

The Giants are the other team that’s being thrown around. You got a future bonified star in Malik Nabers but that’s really it - a roster worse than what Rodgers had with the Jets. And leadership that pales in comparison to how things run in Pittsburgh.
